as far as im concerned the only difference between godolphin and darley in my eyes is the color of sillks, and that mostly of their 2 yr olds based in the US, and 3 yr olds pre TC races run under the Darley. Then usually the cream of that crop get to wear the blue, and possibly sent back to Al Quoz for further evaluation of their campaigns.

Im the expert on all things Godolphin, Darley, Shadwell, Gainsborough, Hamdan related topics

Joel, in reference to the trainer situation. They keep bin Suroor as sort of a figurehead to run their operation, while in fact in most cases Mohammed is the one calling the shots during training, Baffert has even said in one instance that it would be difficult working with the Sheik even if they are friends. David Loder in England has spoken about this the Sheik's give him more rein I should say then they do bin Suroor

oracle--I like the horse but not enough to fully back and support, I just said he wouldnt win the derby, The Belmont just happened to be his day, maybe now he can mature into a better horse.

In that race I liked

Bob and John, Sunriver,Steppenwolfer,Jazil, Bluegrass Cat in that order

I think that Bill Gates should get into horse racing. We need another owner with DEEP pockets. Plus he is here in the US so that makes it even better.

Are there still any non-believers out there?

Bernardini is a beast.....might prove to be one of the best horses since Spectacular Bid...he certainly has the ability

darley is a great operation. their horses are managed conservatively and well. they buy buy buy. they have my respect and admiration.

i still like to see all the big operations get beat however

Joel, didn't you get chills yesterday? I honestly was very nervous before the race due to the condition of the track ; many good horses have failed to lift a hoof in the slop. I couldn't believe how easily he was winning - he was in a common gallop as soon as they turned for home. I guess his Beyer and speed fig # won't be good, but I'm sure even those guys that make the figs will understand that this is one time the #s don't tell the full story.

I have no desire to make predictions for his future because I just want to enjoy Bernardini now. I don't claim he's going to win the remainder of his races this year, or that he's going to be HOY or anything like that - that's a lot of "what ifs". Right now, I'm just thrilled.

I do believe that the Sheikhs will run him next year....there's some speculation that he would run under the Godolphin colors and possibly race in Europe. Boy, I hope not; it won't happen, but I'd prefer that he stay with Tom.
