As for the Darley/Godolphin difference, there really isn't a difference at all ither tahn entity...you clearly missed the whole point here...technically, I could include Shadwell and the rest of the family here with my setiments.... ..the bottomline is that the Oil money is the best money in this game, and for a while I thought it would forge them into dominance - but the reason it did not for sooooo long was because of the defficiencies in their operation... ...Now though, you can clearly see them making more sounder decisions and it is leading to better racing results....the only thing I really disagree with them in terms of their operation is that they are still sending Eoin Harty horses....I think Harty is a horrible horsemen..... ..Coolmore has done more with less ovre the past decade due to the simple fact that they are smarter horsemen and run a far better all-aropund operation....Coolmore doesn't have NEAR the cash to play with the Sheiks when it comes down to it, but they have the top horse evaluator that I've ever seen in Demi O'Byrne ad guys like Pletcher, O'Brien, Biancone, etc. training their horses and those horsemen are far more talented than Ferguson, Bin Suroor, Harty ad guys like that ever thought they could be... ...If Darley hired Buzz Chace and fired Ferguson and hired Baffert, Mandella, Asmussen, etc. and fired Bin Suroor, Harty and crew - Godolphin would probably dominate American racing - and would have probably had a FAR better chance of winning the Derby by now... |

as far as im concerned the only difference between godolphin and darley in my eyes is the color of sillks, and that mostly of their 2 yr olds based in the US, and 3 yr olds pre TC races run under the Darley. Then usually the cream of that crop get to wear the blue, and possibly sent back to Al Quoz for further evaluation of their campaigns.
Im the expert on all things Godolphin, Darley, Shadwell, Gainsborough, Hamdan related topics |

Joel, in reference to the trainer situation. They keep bin Suroor as sort of a figurehead to run their operation, while in fact in most cases Mohammed is the one calling the shots during training, Baffert has even said in one instance that it would be difficult working with the Sheik even if they are friends. David Loder in England has spoken about this the Sheik's give him more rein I should say then they do bin Suroor

oracle--I like the horse but not enough to fully back and support, I just said he wouldnt win the derby, The Belmont just happened to be his day, maybe now he can mature into a better horse.
In that race I liked Bob and John, Sunriver,Steppenwolfer,Jazil, Bluegrass Cat in that order |

I think that Bill Gates should get into horse racing. We need another owner with DEEP pockets. Plus he is here in the US so that makes it even better.
