That salary figure for Fisher seems WAY low....I read somewhere else he had a 450,000 package at LSU....Why would he go to FSU for HALF what he was making before??

i think his bonuses made it over $400k. it's the same in this contract from what i understand. the sticking point may have been something about the HC job when bowden retires OR length of stay and out claus if he'd be offered a HC job someplace else.

i'm sure the thought of his future as a HC was the driving force.
and if he thinks working with miles was difficult, he's going into a really tough spot--taking the place of bowdens son, and a coach the guy didn't want to get rid of. you know ol' bobby meant to hand this team off to jeff when he retired....hell of a situation to get into as the new OC.

CJF is probably not in as bad a spot as you think. fisher likes to throw first then run, with balance. young bowden made his name throwing the ball all over the lot and his trick plays.
fisher's rub with miles, miles wanted to majoritly run the ball. (miles was a michigan OL) . look what a heavy pass offense did to nd, with that group of players.
CJF will help bowden recruit. bowden has lost his best recruiters the last 10 years and has had trouble getting the offensive players that he has used too. fsu defense is consistant because micky andrews is still there.
