No they didn't Freddie not the way they implemented it. I agree with Hoss that an ALL race works however they needed to do that in the context of the rules not after the race. Those on the 7 got screwed royally and ALL OF US now can't even trust them to honor their own rules. It reeks of preferential treatment who screamed loud enough to get them to change a rule? I guess I'm old enough to remember when RULES ARE RULES was a thing. When it went against me of course I'd bitch and moan about a **** rule but NEVER when I benefited from a **** rule was it reversed. If NYRA REALLY wants to as you say "Do the Right thing by the players" then they need to recalculate that Pick 5 making that NOT AN ALL race and Pay the difference to those that can produce a winning Pick 5 ticket that had the 7.

I'm not sure what they can do short of what they did. Either way, because the decision was made so late, people were going to feel like they got screwed. The people who didn't have time to change their tickets were stuck with turf horses in a dirt race. The people who were quick enough (not Vagina Dan) to change their tickets and included the 7 feel like they got screwed. And the truth is both parties are right. I have no idea why they took the 3rd off. It wasn't a baby race, nor a sprint so it makes no sense to me. Going forward I hope they wait to make the decision. The problem started when they made he decision with a few minutes to post and it snowballed from there. Hopefully they handle situations like this better in the future but I won't count on it. |
