But why did she have no business running by Venti Valentine? Use your words. Pretend you don't just use phrases trying to sound smart.

My selection is Secret Oath. I think she’ll win it without any others having enough of an excuse that they could have otherwise won.

Lukas is the best. To be able to still get it done in his 80’s is just amazing.

Secret Oath was a very deserving winner and there was never any doubt.

Good race by the 1 horse.

Better?

The "outside the box" thinking that you like to champion actually worked to great effect for the people that bet on Secret Oath today. Running (and failing) in the Arkansas Derby rather than recording a facile win in the Fantasy is probably the main factor that kept her from being the favorite today (unless I'm way off on the relative speed figures). Would have been a huge gift if she got off at the 6-1 ML.

It will be interesting to see what they do with her from here. Lukas is at the tail end, so perhaps we will get some more radical campaigning. If so, I hope its the Preakness and not the Belmont (unless it ends up being both). Barring setbacks, the Travers would be the ideal race to tackle colts again as she probably ought to assert her dominance over the 3yo filly division in a couple of more races.

If he really wanted to go old school he could try the Alabama-Travers double off a week's rest ala Davona Dale.
