I lobbied hard and fast for Oaklawn. Eclipse said she misjudged the finish line. I was at Parx watching a Charles Town race on the monitor and was vociforously rooting my horse on as they approached the wire. As my exacta finished one two I noticed people still watching and realized it wasn't a 4 1/2 furlong race and they had another lap to go. Ummm...they didn't stay one two and I skulked away in shame.

Any time there is a marathon race, a couple of fans will always begin to cheer loudly when the horses approach the wire for the first time. This happens even when a conscientious announcer mentions that there is another lap to go. Always love to watch their expressions when the field continues to race.

Of course, at a bullring such as Charles Town they can go around several times before the race is over.
