7. If any slots remain unfilled after the placement of all teams qualifying for an automatic berth, then the bowls shall choose their participants from the "pool of eligible teams" (see below.)

If berths are available after the automatic qualifiers have been identified, then the bowls shall select at-large participants from the "pool of eligible teams," which shall include any Division I-A team that is bowl-eligible and meets the following requirements:
A. Has won at least nine regular-season games, not including exempted games, and
B. Is among the top 14 teams in the final BCS Standings

Basically, the Sugar Bowl said hmmm......Notre Dame sells tickets and buys crap so we will choose them over Wisconsin. It is a bunch of crap.
Wisconsin was the worst 12-1 team in recent memory. They were completely outplayed by Arkansas and still won mostly due to Arkansas bad habit of imploding whenever they got close to the goalline.

both offenses played poorly in the second half. lucky for wisconsin their d was able to hold in the second half--that and the fact that arkansas has no passing game at all.
but arkansas has issues every year with passing. every year there is a qb controversy--coach gets paid a lot of money to make decisions, and every year houston is scratching his head on who to play. offense can't get in a rythm when you play musical qb's...bad enough when he's torn between two of them, but these guys had three to try to get in sync with. not good. and next year, it'll be the same thing--play casey or mitch??

I think Nutt did a terrible job in this game. They made a lot of bad mistakes and penalties. I thought their team speed was so much better than Wisc but they couldn't seem to take advantage of it. Seems like there is no continuity to their offense. I guess there never is.

no, offense holds them back so often. nutt was finally forced to hire an offensive coordinator for this past year. former high school coach...and it was like they all had horse shoes up their butt much of the year, unbelievable that they were able to have such a season--thanks almost exclusively to their running game. if mcfadden can keep himself straight, he'll do very well--the injury to his toe that was mentioned so often was the result of an altercation at a nightclub at 4 am--he tried to kick someone and dislocated his toe--bone actually broke thru the skin! of course how the injury occurred was glossed over.
broyles needs to retire--but then, that was the case years ago. and i've never been sold on nutt. don't suppose i ever will be.
