$50 win - Cal. His style of handicapping is solid and can hold up to the pressure on big race days.
$50 win - me. If I don't have some confidence in myself, why am I trying to compete? But, when Don made me the ML fav, he forgot that on BC days I am prone to make flights of fancy that might land me in the penthouse, but just as often leave me in the outhouse. Thanks Don for setting up this always enjoyable exercise. |

The wagers have been made for the Cap the Cappers contest. We have 9 players and $900 in the pot. Betting was broadly distributed with no heavy favorite. The odds for each of our cappers on whom bets were made are as follows:
Plenilune: 5-1 Ruffian: 5.2-1 JolyB: 6.2-1 DonGuido: 8-1 Cal828: 8-1 Roamin: 8.5-1 Digger: 10.2-1 Cruzan200246: 11.9-1 Real Quiet: 24.7-1 While there is no takeout or breakage in DonGuido's wagering emporium, the totals may not come out to the penny because I have rounded to the nearest tenth. I'll post the winning capper of the cappers after the scoring has been completed. There is a distinct possibility that there could be a tie, depending on who the Gallivan winner might be. |

The results of the Breeders' Cup points contest have been posted and declared official, so it is time to announce the results of our Cap the Cappers Contest.
Of the nine entrants, two of our players cashed a ticket on our our winner Cruzan 200246. He went off at odds of 11.9 - 1, just a tad above the 10-1 morning line odds that were set by Don Guido. [ Pretty good ML this year Don]. The Place position went to Ruffian, who earned $257.14 for her $20 wager. Fittingly, the Win spot was taken down by none other than Cruzan 200246. By showing confidence in his own handicapping prowess he received a payoff of $642.86 for his $50 wager. Congrats Cruz on a contest that was well played. |
