![]() I also liked "28 Days Later" but this film is definitely pure science fiction, not horror. (I thought of that movie in some of the shots, though, too- also due to the devastated London, I think.) It was engrossing enough that even after chewing out a bratty teenager who started text-messaging during the film, I still got completely caught up in the film again. (It helped that the teenager kept her $!#*! phone off until the movie was over. Generally I like teenagers, but once in a while...)

I also thought " Children of Men " was excellent but " Pan's Labyrinth " may be the best movie I saw recently.
There's actually some decent stuff out there. " Little Children " is very good too by the way. Altman festival coming shortly to Film Forum. That should be the movie highlight this month. |

) Lovely, lovely movie. I love the woman who played Mercedes-- she was also great in Y Tu Mama Tambien.BTW, have you read "Easy Riders, Raging Bulls?" The stuff on Altman is really entertaining.

I used to see Altman all the time in Upper West Side restaurants. I love his movies. |
