A quality horse. A good horse. A good story. But a BC winner? Whitmore? On a day that track records are given out like gifts to an Oprah audience, this was a rather pedestrian effort.

The horse that just won the Mile has won the equivalent of two allowance races in his career and just beat a pretty accomplished field. Add to it that his trainer was something like 0 for his last 66 or so in North America.
I had one foot out the door anyway. Today that door is closing

One final thought on the Breeders Cup. It’s pretty embarrassing that they messed with the track to the point where so many track records were set.
What was the point of that? Keeneland should never host another Breeders Cup again.

It was sunny and warm at Saratoga. With climate change it should be in the mix.
