Where in the world did that late run of High Opinion in Race 3 come from? Nothing in her pp's provided a hint of such late speed. Thought my pick 4 selection was safely home, then my jaw dropped.

Just watched the replay and you couldn't see that coming. Dead last early. Four lengths down with a furlong to go. When I heard 97-1 I had to quickly check Ruffian's wagers. We bit the bullet on that one.

RQ, I did exactly the same thing - her kind of horse and her kind of price. I made the mistake of mentally checking off that leg of the pick 4 just inside of the 16th pole as Translate looked to be home free, only to get caught and finish second. Naturally, had the other three legs. This can be a very humbling game.

I think you are right ma'am. I have seen the enemy and he is me. I seem to dig a deeper hole every week. Probably not possible to get out before Breeder's Cup. , but I keep on trying.
