At the "highest" level of tracks in the US here are the #s... They are consistently the top offenders.
SA 2018 48 dead racehorses SA 2019 42 dead racehorses BEL 2018 30 dead racehorses BEL 2019 33 dead racehorses GULF 2018 55 dead racehorses GULF 2019 34 dead racehorses I would think that the more prestigious tracks would have less injuries given the owners, trainers and connections. Totally skewed the wrong way.

Sorry but I couldn't find the casualty list on Equibase, The DRF or Horseracing nation. I was looking for stats, not assholes but I found both.
interesting update... ........of particular interest in light of workout videos of Mongolian Groom taken before the Classic. Multiple veterinary sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity say videos shot throughout the week appear to show the horse favoring his left hind leg at the trot. See complete jog videos from Oct. 31 here and Oct. 26 here. watch........https://www.xbtv.com/video/workout/m...ber-31st-2019/ https://www.paulickreport.com/news/r...-exam-history/

Multiple vets spoke on the condition of anonymity? How courageous of them. The truth is, multiple horses were scratched by vets BEFORE their races both Friday and Saturday. The vets were overly cautious. How could they scratch multiple horses and miss this one? Internet vets and real ones who have a lot to say sure were quiet before the Classic. Here’s the real interesting update, where his vet and trainer explain the situation. http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com...efore-classic/ |
