Nice picture of Arromanches. That was when horse racing was fine. Horses actually ran.

Don't forget Chindi! (Only 17 wins in 78 starts, but he was running with graded stakes horses his entire career - won the Count Fleet (G3) at 4, placed in open stakes races at 10). Bet on Sunshine had higher earnings than either (thanks to his thirds in the BC Sprint) from only 47 starts, 22 wins.

I immediately thought of Chindi when I read the article. I think he was owned by a couple of doctors who lived in Hot Springs so he was a regular at Oaklawn. I saw some of his races there.

Say Florida Sandy was a nice horse, overachiever for sure, but not in Arromanches league, at least as far as winning goes.
