Thanks for the kind words, and thank you for scoring, Plen.

My choice for next Saturday's venue is a no-brainer, one of the things I handle the best. The Derby Trail resumes at Gulfstream Park for the frequently sought Fountain of Youth, along with a stakes studded undercard. Can't think of any other place where we should be.

BC Juvie Champ Good Magic, Holy Bull runnerup Free Drop Billy and Swale winner Strike Power are among those seeking Derby qualifying points in the FOY.

Any thoughts on the number of races we are doing? I think the full card might be 14 races.

14 seems like a bit too much either to handicap or to score. I'd like to take a look at the actual race card rather than the condition book to see what makes the most sense before giving you a specific answer.

After looking at the Gulfstream race card for Saturday, I'm inclined to only include races 4 through 14 on our contest card. Rather than start at 11:30 AM Eastern and have a 14 race card, we would have our first contest race at 1:00 PM Eastern and have an 11 race contest, of which 9 would be stakes races, finishing with the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth.

I'll post the venue announcement sometime tomorrow, but would appreciate any reactions you might have concerning this choice.

By 11 AM i'm coherent
My coffee is starting to kick in
And then if I really get lucky
I might pick some horses who win
