Shrupp is really my least favorite person on the air and may be the only one I actively can't stand to listen to.

Today, at Keeneland, he was over the top in derisively making fun of Ellis Park and any shipper from there. It was as though his brain was still 5-10 years in the past and he has just not noticed the purses/connection overhaul that has taken place there, especially this year. The fact is, in 2016, you could make the case that the best racing in the summer outside of NYRA and Del Mar is at Ellis Park. Their overnight purses are just slightly less than TVG's sacred Santa Anita. As Steve Byk has highlighted, not only did they draw pretty much the full Kentucky horsemen contingent but also trainers like Casse, Mott etc. 7 of the top 8 trainers this year are guys with yearly Saratoga strings.

Long story short, the horse racing world follows the money and the money has made Ellis Park quite competitive. For Todd Schrupp to ignore this and literally belittle its product shows that he is either totally unprepared, clueless or both.

Default Again...SA superseeds any track

Keeneland just ran a race on TVG, a GIII Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (R8)
And what do we have, a split screen with a $16,000 Claimer at Santa Anita. Wow, just after the race(s), TVG Mr Shrupp sez here's the full audio of the SA race. Whens it going to stop? Why Why Why is Santa Anita so important to TVG to televise there races. Just sad, very sad!!

Have to agree no way should they split screen with a Graded Stake.

I'm pretty sure it's all contractual deals. Some of it was original TVG and some of it was done in the HRTV buyout.

I'm not sure where the Coins came from.

However, late at night TVG2 is replaying some nice semi-old races.
