Carter is free to say whatever he wants. He has negotiated some difficult resolutions, monitored elections, and done his best to call attention to a sane approach to inhabiting the planet.
Do you think that taking chainsaws to olive groves that have been in Palastinian families for generations will bring resolution? A bigger fence? Bull dozers taking down homes for "settlements"?
Dare anyone speak against the actions of these people at the risk of being labeled "anti-semetic"?

i think that it's wrong to label any and all disagreement with israel as anti-semitic. kind of halts any intelligent conversation.
this case, like most, you'll probably find that the truth lies somewhere in between both sides' arguments.

What that soldier is saying is not surprising. When you are at war with a brutal enemy that wants to kill you, it's hard to treat that enemy nicely. Nobody has ever said that the Israelis are angels in their dealings with the Palestinians.

DTS: Firstly, I wasn't the one who brought up your name. Secondly, I'm not a fan of Carter...for reasons too numerous to mention, and this fine place doesn't need my opinions to survive. #3...This will incorporate my response to the other posting you asked me to read..War is HELL..for both sides..and I'm not stating that flippantly. That mans' views as a participant in acts of war is consistent with many of our vets. #4..No need for you to keep up with the disclaimer about CD...it is a free country,lol #5..You did show me the mechanics of cutting and pasting!...and I do remember something about this board forgiving you for what you'd unleashed...so it's all good. But the thing that troubles me is that the majority of folks won't check out anything to find the truths that define them,or anchor them. You, as an academian(?) would surely see that! #6...I need to start to focus on personal "health issues" and business interests that have gone long unattended...and need to be addressed....much like a friend of ours. 2) Though I don't completely agree with Carter, at least he's trying.
