I will never understand how anyone could pay four times as much money to breed to American Pharoah as they will likely have to pay for Honor Code, assuming they go to a new sire. Or how about paying a similar amount to breed to Tapit?

A better question is 225k for AP first year vs. Frankel who I think was 100k pound sterling.. How does that happen.

Only a few breeding to race that aren't Coolemoore or Zayat mares will go to him at 225K. Because it makes no sense

American Pharoah is a phenom so I can see the excitement of his first crop, especially considering what Ghostzapper stood for and Pharoah did significantly more, but the bargain of the bloodline is the original, proven source, I'd book Empire Maker !
