A sad loss in race two at Ellerslie today - the really nice sprinter Airfield Road, who won five races.

Just saw on bloodhorse. Passed peacefully at 29....we all want what he had. Long successful life and a gentle passing. Hell of a horse.

10/3 Keeneland

Shore Runner broke down in the Woodford

"The race was marred when Shore Runner, one of the favorites, broke down in mid-stretch and Speechify tumbled over him. Kendrick Carmouche, who rode Shore Runner, complained of chest pain and was transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center for X-rays. Sean Bridgmohan, who was aboard Speechify, walked away from the incident but took off the rest of his mounts."

Skyring pulled up in the Shadwell and later euthanized

"The race was marred by the breakdown of longtime Calumet Farm runner Skyring, who did not finish after being pulled up abruptly by jockey Joseph Rocco Jr. on the backside due to injury. He was euthanized."

Few details that I can find
