Been a LONG day here in Franklin County. We live about 8 miles from the scene of today's shootings. I can't count the number of hours I've spent over the past 20+ years standing/leaning on that deck landing at Bridgewater Plaza.
In my bachelor years, many a summer afternoon was spent drinking a cold beer from Moosie's Bar and looking out at Smith Mountain Lake. Nowadays, my family and I go over there to eat pizza and feed the fish in the lake. My youngest son is just mesmerized by all of the carp swimming below waiting for bread or pizza crust.

Prayers for Ms. Gardner as she recovers.
Prayers for the Parker and Ward families.
I hope they can all find the strength to get through this...somehow.

I'm down in southern VA about hour or so from Smith mtn, been there couple times over the years....WDBJ is my CBS station...why didn't the pos shoot himself first!...disgruntled former employee my ass, friggin whacko..
