So you're saying there have been 4,651 killed in the mass shootings in the past 2 years here? Because that would be what it would take for us to equal Norway provided there hasn't been any killed via mass shootings there.

The chart is outdated by 2 years old but simple math, provided the USA has a population of 319 million, extrapolates the above number that we are fortunately way short of.

Again feelings over facts usually isn't a good way to handle statistics.

So your point is we have no issue with Gun violence in this country cause other countries have it worse? Kind of like your position on the poor in our country should be happy cause the poor in Haiti have it worse off?

No my point is and always has been we are not the only developed country in the world to experience mass shootings.

I also think not only it serves no purpose but inflames those who want to 'feel' we are the only country by our President pontificating false statements.

Umm..this country is obsessed with guns. There can be no reasonable dialog about control because...and I am and sorry. ..but other than family, gun owners value their right to kill..disguised as defend , above all. Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the world much less the country and it is a motherf.ucking war zone.

It's cute seeing gun owners labeled as more wanting to kill than to defend their family, property, and possessions from potential harm.

Random gun violence happens like this and people all of a sudden care.

Dell brings up all the weekend deaths in Chicago and it's far less caring.

Since we're assuming law abiding gun owners just wanna kill people lets also assume that liberals on here want Chicago gang members to kill other gang members and innocent bystanders.

It's only a fair assumption since we're obviously in the 'demonizing' straw-man game.

Work on the reality that every race is racist and the levels don't change much. Then we'll talk.

Again, I find myself agreeing with you...racism isn't confined to one group of folks. About twenty years ago (roughly) I listened to a debate where one side presented the argument that black folks can't be racist because they lack to power to affect white folks...absurd! One can't measure racism by the results, while I agree that white racists historically (in the US) have had a much more overall profound negative effect on black folks than the reverse...racism is racism and the fact remains that racist viewpoints have a negative effect on both the racist and the folks he/she discriminates against. Dr King understood this but today's black leaders have strayed from his teachings.

The mass murders in Europe didn't involve knives but guns despite their restrictive gun laws.

This country isn't obsessed with guns, I own guns and am not obsessed with them. I own a lawn mower to cut my lawn and guns to protect my lawn.

Guns don't go off by themselves and solving the problem by banning them is equivalent to solving the problem of fatal car accidents by banning automobiles.

BTW I don't hate you in fact much closer to loving you though we differ many times on at least political matters.

Banning mentally deranged people, people on psychiatric drugs and holding those responsible like this kid's father enabling them to own guns would be a great start. And would in theory have aborted the Sandy Hook, Colorado, Ft. Hood and this mass murder to start.
