Cost me a small p5, so a little biased. That said, i agree that KD rode the hair off the 3 horse and then thought he had put the lead horse away and relaxed late thinking he wins the race and never saw the 4 until ttoo late. I believe he has a history w /this type thing in his past, no ?

Yes, big time. This article is from a long time ago, but you get the picture:
"If he saw he wasn't going to win a race he couldn't understand why he should keep riding. I told him I have a lot of clients who need those third- and fourth-place checks. I also told him to ride his own horse and quit riding (trying to maneuver) other people's horses in races." http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1...t-silver-charm And I know some on here weren't all that pleased with his finish in the 2010 KD on Paddy O'Prado: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxO0EKlYv0k |

#3 galloped out better than the winner, suggesting that the #4 was all out, but the #3 not as much.

Some jockeys never let their horses gallop out much. I think its overrated. Some late running sprinters will gallop out past everyone around the turn giving everyone false hopes for stretching out.

Wasn't Kent the jockey of Big Brown in the Belmont?
