Merrick (from UCLA) is playing well, but he is not under that much pressure as he already has earned his tour card for this year via the Nationwide money list. He is just trying to move up the rankings a bit.

Yea,I watched some last night.Will watch the final round tomorrow(CAN'T MISS T.V. RIGHT THERE.)Am gunna hope this Boyd guy can hold on for a card.That's a poor guy,and his wife needs a break(supporting him.)I can see an 80 on Monday,but will hope not.2 others I want to get a card are Anthony Kim,and of course, DICKY PRIDE.

There are a lot of big names fighting for their cards. Lee Janzen is not looking too good. He's not going to make it. I'm sure he will still get into plenty of tournaments though as a result of sponsor's exemptions.

I wonder if he has any other exemptions. There are all kinds of one-time exemptions for accomplished palyers like Janzen. He did win the US Open twice.

Rich....Janzen has no other full year exemptions. He used his 1 time, Top 50 all time money list exemption this year. He will have to rely on sponsors exemptions only if he doesn't make it through.

1)Past Winner Status

and

2)He is #146 on the $ list,and everybody up to 150 has some status(they get into what? half the tournaments?

he will get into some Scuds....will have better luck trying to rely on sponsors exemptions....

How does that work? He is obviously behind the top 125 guys that kept their cards. He will be behind the Nationwide graduates. He will be behind the 30 guys that get their cards from Q-school. I assume he will be behind the guys that finished between 126th and 145th on the money list. Where does that leave him? That would put over 180 guys in front of him. I don't know how he could get into many tournaments. Even the top 10 guys from Q-school have trouble getting into tournmanets for the first month or two of the year.

he will get into some of the lesser tourneys....other than that...he will be writing alot of letters to sponsors, hoping for a spot. I hope for his sake that he was an enjoyable pro-am partner through the years.
