I meant the technique improvement is cool

All I ever AI'd were Arabian mares, most of them so average I considered it a waste of decent semen. AI can homogenize a breed genetically pretty quickly, it sure can have it's downsides (see your breed, Standardbreds).

I don't necessarily disagree with TJC being the last bastion of live cover.
