Hoss, I think we (the sport) just need to publically show a little common humanity about bad crap when it happens.

Most stuff on the track isn't catastrophic, the horses and jocks are cared for and get off the track alive and under their own power. The public should know this.

No drama. The announcer simply needs to acknowledge what happened; say they are being attended to, the horse is being taken off the track in the ambulance, the jock is walking off, etc.

Leaving the TV public's last view of something potentially "awful" - a horse being pulled up, or even worse going down - to hang there with zero subsequent comment, like it didn't even happen, is appallingly disrespectful in my view.

I know most certainly do care alot more about Wandering Boy and Springside than our pick 4 payout (edit: Point, that was not directed at you!, it was a general comment)
