The record would be for Americans and seems like it means you have to run at 4 to have a shot at it. At the rate they're going it's actually gonna become less and less likely. Remember how much of Curlin's money came at 3 (he didn't just get the DWC to have a shot at breaking it) and he had to get it by lasting through the entire TC and winning the BCC.
