While just three have won, there certainly has been more than three fillies to run well.
In fact, in a 10 year span from 1986 to 1995 -- a filly or mare finished either first or 2nd in that race in eight of those ten years. Xtra Heat and Honest Lady had a couple strong 2nd this decade. The fillies who've entered have certainly outrun their odds - there have been years where no filly even ran.
