ill stay positive about this race. last years was knocked by most and it turned out to be a good winner. O'Briens derby horses will improve dramatically from now until Epsom and I wouldnt be surprised if the winner finds the 10 or so pounds to be competitive in Epsom..
We'll find out alot during the week with Authorised, but hope Salford Mill runs to get a bit of a guide.. i liked his win, but saying that Aculpoco wouldnt be that high up the pecking order in Ballydoyle

I was impressed with admiralofthefleet at Chester, but i just think 10furlongs might be his limit on stamina. He has the class but i'm not sure how much petrol there will be left in the tank when on the run for home in the Derby. Stamina is crucial to win the Derby with the pace they go and with the first 5-6furlongs being on an incline. He looked to stay on at Chester, but it's a sharp track on the level and why hold him up at Chester if they knew he would get home??

Mahler has impressed me a great deal and i have had a dabble in the market at a nice price. My friend says he has strengthened so much since he won last week even, so that is positive.

Duke Of Marmalade is also certain to take in the Irish 2000 guineas instead of the Derby, as might Eagle Mountain.

Acapulco is VERY well thought of, but i get the impression that Salford Mill might just be a bit special without people actually realising it just yet. I haven't backed him for the Derby yet, but i probably will...... he looks very classy actually, and i hope he goes for the Dante to lower the colours of the massively overrated Authorized!!!

I didn't see anything today that warranted me to take notice for the Derby, i certainly didn't knock last years Derrinstown, but this years was pretty average. Mores Wells had his excuses i suppose, but i couldn't really fancy him anymore for the Derby, but i still think he will win a nice race this year.

I'm not sure the winner or the second will stay either, although they looked to be staying on nicely (especially Yellowstone), both he and Archipenko will struggle to stay a quickly run 12 furlongs judging on their pedigree in my opinion.

Aidan, you know it makes sense. Just run Mahler and Soldier Of Fortune!!!
