I'D rather have the REDSOX 3rd baseman...........Latinos seem to enjoy coming to play in L.A.,though.We shouldn't be talking about this.Beltre should be our 3rd baseman, but nooooooooooo

Roids:
2004 LA 156 598 104 200 32 0 48 121 53 87 7 2 .334 .388 .629 1.017

No Roids:
2007 Sea 149 595 87 164 41 2 26 99 38 104 14 2 .276 .319 .482 .801

So you want a couple more doubles and SB's for more K's, less walks, 70 point less batting average, 35 less hits and 30 less RBI's, not to mention 20 less HR's

Beltre's numbers may be a function of motivation as much as roids. In 2004 he was in his contract year so was actually motivated to perform. Now he's cashed in and just going through the motions. In 2009 expect him to have another big year.

He led.You don't get it.He was the leader of the team.He wasn't just a 3rd baseman. He loved playing here.He should have been signed. He is a f'n cat at 3rd base.He (pretty much by himself ) picked this team up and carried them to win the division.Gee we haven't done it since he left. Why? No f'n core, man. We got a much better team than 2004,but we don't have a leader. That team was nothing but him, Lima, and a prayer.O.K.,you guys think he wouldn't have produced.Guess what? He did about 20 million worth of production in the last 2 months of the 2004 season. So,it's a lot different when a guy like that(who has done something for you) doesn't produce. What makes me vomit is a guy like Schmidt not performing.A guy like Drew not performing.A guy like this Kent being his normal ass self(destroying any kind of chemistry.)A guy like Lowe not performing. That's tougher to take than somebody like Beltre (who is responsible for a division title.)WE WANTED THAT GUY HERE.Take a poll. You'll see that was the team leader. They just up and dumped the team leader. You wonder what's wrong with this organization? Start there. We got some youngins and a bunch of hired whores...IT'S NOT WORKING OUT. Noitalls didn't know better. You can make a good theoretical design, and end up with poop.We knew what we had with Beltre. We had a leader who cared about this team.Far as I am concerned, all involved with that stupidity should be lined up against a wall and shot with rubber bullets. They'll live. F'N weeds always live.WHERE IS DAT PIECE OF HUMAN WASTE CALLED PODESTA? DAMN CANCER

You could have Cecil Fielder as your third basemen and it's still a step up from what my Phillies have. (Helms, and Nunez(FA) ).

Is it me or has Brad Lidge been dookie the last year and a half???
Gillick better hope this move works out. Either that or change his style of shirts, bcause if it doesnt work, Philly will be hunting down every man in an ugly Hawaiin button down.

The sad part - initial report say that the Phils will not upgrade at 3B until after the season starts. Going to go into the year with Helms and Dobbs platooning. Myers prefers closing. Interesting. Lidge at Philly - well the book is still out.
