Default Who else feels like an idiot??

9: Lantana Mob - Single
10: All
11: Possible single in Buy the Barrell as her Thorograph was 2pts better then anyone
12: Free square

Total of $9 invested

Almost $1200 returned, just shows you how good of a wager the P4 can be. 1 completely obvious single, one strong single, one gutsy single, and the use of the all button...

It's easy to play Sunday morning QB.

Lucas nearly won the 9th. If Lantana Mob gets into any traffic trouble he loses.

Most people did not have Donk's colt so I can see going all. Redboarding a bit here but liked Pays to Dream a lot and cashed.

The 11th was wide open and singling would have took a lot of testicular fortitude.

The 12th was a gimme

Scavs, dude, stuff like that often makes a whole lot more sense after the fact.

I think the winner paid a single digit mutual in 12 of the 13 races today - and the only longshot winner I didn't really see at all.

Great value it was that the one P4 turned out to be and all - I still think you shouldn't beat yourself up over it.

Looks a lot easier the night after. . . Lantana Mob wasn't a single . . . I didn't use the 5 in the 10th but that wasn't a leg to go ALL in. . . Buy The Barrel was also solid but not a single - also some potential prices in that leg . . . Agree that Big Brown was a single. . .

i was an idiot, i had come up with a $60 play, 3x4x5x1, but decided that i should narrow the turf race by one to make it a $48 play, so I cut the Donk horse! DOH!

I went 1x4x2x1 and still missed the tenth race. Couldn't really see going much deeper since I singled Lantana Mob. Not a good feeling, but I see I'm in good company.

I do agree though, that it shows what a great wager the pick 4 can be. How else can you anchor a 1-5 and still get back nearly $1200 with 2 short priced horses and a bomb?
Agreed... The pick 4 is my favorite wager for the reasons you stated. You only have to have one "difficult" horse to make the thing pay well.

I also had it, spent $500 to get there for $2 but mission accomplished as I figured even money on Big Brown was a reasonable goal. I used 6 in the turf race and all (in some capacity) in the distaff, so I'd disagree with Scav that the Jones filly was a single. If Lexi Star gets a little better trip she probably wins, for that matter.

It does no good - actually it may drive u crazy to dwell on how you blew an "easy one". What can help is to file the pattern in your memory. Next time you see this happen take advantage.

I was also very pleasantly pleased at the payoff. I played 4 horses in the turf race and cashed thanks to CJ posting his figures for the preakness card. Pays to dream had some of the best figures in the race last year and was 2nd off the shelf. To bad I screwed up my exacta and tri but the pick 4 was a very nice payoff considering at least 70% of all tickets had Big Brown singled.

Yep. All 4 were underlined pace figure horses. http://www.pacefigures.com/ROTW/Pim080517C.htm 3x3x3x2. In fact the P6 was all underlined. Did I have either? Of course not! I did catch the 10/11 DD at least.

Ditto to the $60 play, and couldn't even come up with that Donk horse on my back up tickets, missed opportunity!
