Default Tale of 2 Cannons

Chuck, congrats on Hacker Craft in the 10th at Turfway, 13-1 was quite nice.. unfortunately not so good with Sister Pegleen in the last, major trouble getting out of the starting gate!

It is always nice when a second time starter who had a little trouble from the gate in her first start gets left without a handler in the gate and breaks 10 lengths behind the field. Great thing if you own, train, or bet on the horse. Just another occasion where the racetracks screw everybody and when questioned just say "Cost too much money to hire enough asst starters". So I am sorry if anyone lost money on her today. She may have broke slowly and lost anyway but this is not the first time this has happened to me. She has been to the gate in the morning 10 times since her last race and has been breaking fine from the gate, but of course there was a handler in there with her everytime.

That really really sucks Chuck. Not fair to everyone involved with the horse.

I've noticed horses without handlers in the gate and often wondered if that was by choice, random or flat out cheapness of the track. You have answered my question.

GL with her next time out.

Thanks for the explanation, and sorry you had to give it. She seemed to run well once she got going. Hopefully she came back fine, we'll just have to load up on her next time
