Default Donald Sterling

Suspended for life, fined $2.5 mil and will almost certainly be forced to sell the Clippers by the NBA Board of Governors. Adam Silver really dropped the hammer.

This isn't over. It's a lawyer's field day.

I don't know the law in California but you can't record someone in KY without their consent.

When this goes to court the liability will be on the NBA. And I wouldn't be surprised if Sterling gets a very nice settlement.

i know the other day i heard them also saying they weren't sure it was him on the recording.

i really wish a lot of these entities would focus more on getting it right than getting it fast.

I like all of these celebrities saying he's a slave owner.

I'd love to be a slave for $10-15 million a year. Sign me up.

I truthfully don't give one s.hit about the NBA.
I just think that you could secretly wiretap anyone and eventually get some sort of dirt out of them.

i'd hate to have someone hear me say something tongue in cheek and they think i'm serious. i don't think that's what happened here, but my god, context is everything.

my assistant went to the eye doctor, had been to the dentist the day before...she said 'hey, if i do anything funny, i'm on pain killers because i had a tooth pulled'. by the end of the day, people were calling and asking if everything was ok, that they heard she had a drug problem.

How many other NBA owners may have said something off the cuff, that completely out of context could be taken in a similar manner were there an errant recording device near him? What are they thinking right now?

Certainly not defending Sterling, but that's an awfully slippery slope people are heading down, knee-jerking to these illegal recordings without even so much as an investigation.

Sounds creepily similar to a horse trainer that is going to have an unexpected spotlight all over him this weekend

They should ban for life every player that has ever used a racist slur on record. They must be aware that they are being recorded when they are on the court.

"This was a defining moment for the NBA. We've defined ourselves as an org that won't tolerate ignorance & bigotry. Left no doubt." (Mayor Kevin Johnson)

Okay, then. Maybe now we can talk about them ‪#‎Redskins‬, Indians, Blackhawks, Eskimos, Chiefs, Braves, Redmen, etc.

Awe the hypocrisy
