DT Contest - January 1st
Ladies and Gentlemen –
This is the first race in the 2nd Annual Derby Trail Contest. This contest ends with the Kentucky Derby on the first Saturday in May. The rules are simple, each week a list of stakes races for 3 year old horses will be posted and you will be asked to pick one horse for each race that you believe will be the winner. The “bet” you are placing is a $2 WPS and where ever your horse finishes, you will get that payout across the board (ie: if your horse wins, you will get the win/show/place payouts combined, if your horse places you will get place/show, etc.). It is strongly recommended that you play each race every week. You don’t lose “money” if you don’t play (and you don’t lose “money” if your pick loses), but you do lose the chance to make “money”. If you miss a week or start late, that ok – with the right longshot winner, anyone can do well! AND as an added bonus, anyone who places bets before the KY Derby on the eventual winner gets those points (or $$$) multiplied by 10 (ie: Street Sense in last years Tampa Bay Derby paid $4.40 / $2.40 / $2.10 for a $2 bet across the board so your return was $8.90. With this contest, after he won the KY Derby, you would be credited with an additional $89 - Winning points of $8.90 x 10 = $89). Post your picks here on this thread before post time. I’ll keep track of everyone’s picks and post the totals after the race (I usually have them up the night of the last race for the week but sometimes I get to them sooner). Also, remember to post and alternate pick in case your first choice scratches. Let me know if you have questions. Thank you for playing and remember – let’s have fun!
