Point well taken. The thread has probably stopped being productive for all involved anyway, so time to move on.
Good luck! Some concrete needs a jack hammer! It can be very frustrating otherwise. Beats using a spoon.

This thread has gone further than I ever thought it would.
I hope that ateam or steve retires it to the "reading room" when it's done.
It will be an entertaining "read" next winter when I'm snowed in.

"We have come closer to a true meritocracy than anywhere else around the world," he said. "You have mobility so people with talents can be put to the best use. Without the estate tax, you in effect will have an aristocracy of wealth, which means you pass down the ability to command the resources of the nation based on heredity rather than merit."

Now the above has got to totally confuse the bold one based on what he has stated. This must rock his inflexible world.

And you guys are right. We are done. At first I thought we might be dealing with a person I could learn from. But when the digging takes place, there is no treasure. I always value others opinions that try to find answers. This joke has run its course. Sorry I got sucked in.

Yes ... by all means go look at the "World Cup" thread in Sports Bar ...

... and you'll see where Downthestretch made an unwitting fool of himself ... before completely ducking the simple question I posed to him.

He also displayed an utter lack of deductive reasoning ... by completely failing to understand that there may be more than just a passing relationship between someone who was born and raised in the beautiful Borough of Churches ... and the waves of people who emigrated from the warm peninsula which juts into the Mediterranean Sea.

By all means ... go to that thread and read for yourself.

I don't know where that quote comes from ... but it's utterly lacking in merit.

"People with talent can be put to the best use ... "? What sort of elitist nonsense is that? Are talented people some sort of cattle whose usefulness will be determined by their "betters"? Yuck !!!

"Without the estate tax you will have an aristocracy of wealth ... " So does that mean that taxes are supposed to be punitive ... in order to "get back at" people who have been financially successful? Now that's a genuine Marxist-Leninist idea ! And we all know how successful countries which adhere to Marxism-Leninism have been.

" ... you pass down the ability to command the resources of the nation ... " Another Marxist-Leninist concept ... that there's a rapacious class which commands resources. Hey, buddy ... this is America ... no one commands anything here.

Again ... we have leftists relying on other leftists to support their bubbleheaded, sophomoric beliefs.

Here's a little secret ... socialism doesn't work ... in fact socialism can't work ... because socialists don't understand that wealth is something which must be created ... it's not something which simply exists and merely has to be distributed by a select elite.

More quotes from his beloved sources.

I'm done woth this fool.

He's a coward, a racist and a fool.

He won't respond to any real question, just quotes his extreme psyhobabbling idols and thinks that makes him smart.

I might like singing "Evening in Roma" in my underwear, but that doesn't make me Dean Martin.

I don't have the wherewithall to drive through this long and winding thread which looks akin to my 19 hour drive from Fort Lauderdale to Louisville drive for Derby...

But the above from S2S is hysterical, and urges me to offer one of my own favorite "equivilent" quotes:

"Cats get in the oven to have kittens, but that don't make 'em biscuits.."

..or in the parlance of Fark.com, "I got nothing"...

Warren Buffet is a socialist. Holy guacomole. Now I am really done.

Trapped in a very deep hole with no way out. He sits at the bottom with putrification well on its way.

Hey ...here's a another bit of info that you hadn't thought of ...

Warren Buffet got his fortune started by selling life insurance ... and life insurance sales are highly dependent on the existence of death taxes. It was and is in Mr. Buffet's personal financial interest to keep that noxious tax alive.

And ... some of the biggest socialists in the world ... are people who have made huge fortunes in the capitalist system. The simplest example being the bubbleheads in Hollyweird. You don't have to be poor or unsuccessful to spout idiotic socialist nostrums.
