She had to wait.
That makes the race that much more impressive. She had to wait until some horses cleared to move out from the rail and get a run. A great turn of foot by a wonderful horse.

Absolutely the best grass mare in the world...clearly the best in that race with a superior turn of foot!

Agree completely, Somer. I love this mare. Is she in your all-time top 100 yet?

I never rank a horse until he/she retires but she'll get a close look for sure!

Default Racing at Ascot

Why is it I see very little horses come from behind. I'm amazed how many times horses within the first three in races from 6F to 2miles end up winning.

Anyone know why?

SHAWANDA MISSES HARDWICKE DATE

Godolphin have declared Shawanda as a non-runner in this afternoon's Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The four-year-old filly, winner of the Irish Oaks and Prix Vermeille last term, was due to make her debut for the Dubai outfit after switching from the care of Alain de Royer-Dupre over the winter.

However, Saeed bin Suroor has informed Weatherbys that Shawanda is lame and she will now bypass the mile-and-a-half event.

Champlain wins the Chesham...

Holy Smokes! Exacta $3500 for a dollar! Are you kidding?
I played 18 but I actually gave a long look to the 19 from same trainer.
