Wish him nothing but the best in his next endeavor. Always seemed awkward in the position to my eye but what the heck do I know.

Maybe the new boss will restore Saratoga to the non cash grab it used to be in the old days. What if the new boss is a young guy looking to attract young fans to replace the ones who are getting on in years ? What if the new boss is looking to shake things up over there ? What if the new guy is worse? Who are the faves for the big chair ? Maybe we get back to Dollar triples and other reasonable min bets.

Maybe hire Rick Hammerle for the job....

Here we go...

According to multiple sources, however, the board asked for Kay’s resignation after it learned that Kay had used NYRA employees to do private work for him at the house he owns in Saratoga, considered a breach of company policy

While I might be in the minority, I am very sorry to learn that the Board has accepted Kay's resignation. Kay had restored a sense of business order to NYRA and established a vision and path with others to build the frachise. An outsider in a closed world, hopefully he imparted some business management style into the team - which is how I saw him leading as a customer. If this resignation is over the usage of NYRA resources to work on Kay's Saratoga residence, that would be a crying shame on many fronts none the least of which would be the legacy of his good work in rebuilding the NYRA franchise.

Just saw that NYRA is parting ways with the concessions people who've been doing it for the last 25 years. It could mean layoffs of 600 people. Let's hope the new guys hire the old workers. They said it was like almost 200 workers at Belmont .only 20 at aqueduct and the rest at Saratoga .
