What about Drosselmeyer?

Interesting to see if Winstar decides to run 2 in that race, or points Drosselmeyer elsewhere.

There's no Peter Pan this year, right? So..unless you go in the Dwyer, there's not a lot of options.

Guessing that Zito may run Jackson Bend in Preakness and put Ice Box in the Belmont. Ice Box is going to love that Belmont stretch. Won't get 11-1 on him in the Belmont.

Don't mean to burst your bubble but the stretch at Belmont is shorter than Churchill by nearly 150 feet. The turns at Belmont are what go on forever.

Now you have done it. My bubble is burst. I am so sad now. (I meant he will like the extra quarter mile.) Is that better?

Seems like he's the sucker horse now. That was a brutal trip and might take the starch out of him for a month or two. No way I take 3-1 or less on him in the Belmont.

If you like Ice Box and they plan to skip the Preakness you ought to cheer heartily for Super Saver to win impressively in Baltimore. Then Ice Box will be a larger price, nowhere near 11-1, but he'll offer a bit more value.

So what does he tell Dogwood? Sorry I have the Derby winner, you can't run?

While I thought ice box clearly ran the best race yesterday, I am not that enthused about his prospects moving forward as he seemingly is the type that needs pace help and luck to be successful.

i agree. been figuring everyone will jump on his bandwagon now. people tend to look to closers for whatever reason in the belmont, when in fact speed and stalker types excel in this race. longer distances may well dull his late kick, and if the pace isn't right, he won't get there. i picked him for yesterday because i thought there was plenty of speed up front for him to close into. it's not always the case.

Just a side note, as a YOUNG kid I actually liked that movie. I think it is so funny that it gets made fun of so much now. (It did back then too but I was too young to get it.)

It is going to give us a better price on a horse who doesn't need the pace up front.

caps had one hell of a year, maybe next year they'll have a better post-season.

funny tho, ovechkin/crosby is almost like zenyatta/rachel. someone mentions one, only a matter of time before the other comes up.
It's no different than in other sports, you need a championship to elevate yourself to superstar status. Not unlike Pletcher getting his 1st derby, Frankel with his BC...There are the Tom Brady's, Gretzky's and Crosby's that are associated with winning, until Ovie shows he can lift his team over the hump, he will always have that tag of being a great individual player that can win during the season but can he win the big game?
