Ogilvy won it as much as Mickleson and Montgomerie lost it.

He made clutch shots on 17 and 18 .... while all the others were appling up.

Singh is on the downside of his career ... a few years ago he would have pounced on a situation like this ... today he just hung around and had a nice Top 10 finish ... but no trophy.

Parimutuels (based on odds after the 3rd Round) :

Ogilvy $26.80 ... 4.20 ... 2.10

Mickleson ......... 2.40 ... 2.10

Montgomerie ............... 2.10

Exacta $45.00 Trifecta $165.20

.... but ... he hit a beauty of a drive right after that ...

... it was his second shot where the choke occurred ... Monty is still Monty.

Well,Phil didn't hit many fairways at all today. The fact that he even had a lead is quite odd.He didn't just miss a fairway on 18.He missed them all day.On the other hand,Monty missed the green from the fairway.A complete choke.I mean nothing but a choke job. Then Monty has a long putt for par.Instead of atleast getting it close(to make sure he could get a bogey, and get a chance for a playoff).Monty blows that putt horribly past the hole.Phil had the same, but not from the green. No,he had a chance for par,but from a bad "fried egg" lie in the sand(a little unlucky.)Monty totally choked on 18.Phil was more sloppy, and dumb(less of a choke than it was just sloppy gambling type golf mixed with a plugged ball in the sand, and a fried egg lie in the sand.)

I think Phil can be blamed for taking bogey on 18th,but as far as doublebogey goes, that fried egg lie he got is not a GOOD up and down situation. So,yes he blew a chance to win it on 18,but I think he was very unlucky not to be able to be in a playoff. On the other hand,Monty's double bogey on 18 was not unlucky. It was pure choke.

Noone choked. They didn't win. IF you really want to talk about chokes; the great, gritty, perfect US Open game Furyk choked worse than Monty and Mickelson. The brilliant grinder left a 30 foot birdie putt about 15 feet short on what 15 or 16? In my mind, perhaps the worst birdie putt or even putt in the history of major championship golf. Then missed about a 4 foot par putt on 18, shorter than Monty's bogey putt and certainly shorter than Ogilvy's par putt. People are gagging raving about the Monty and Phil chokes, but in my mind Furyk was worse than both of them.

Furyk was the real choker of the day, not those other two. Furyk is going scot free in this mess. His display was the worst of all. Putting is where choking occurs, not full swing shots. Furyk's putting was abysmal the last three or four holes. Monty had to try to make his par putt on 18, he couldn't assume Phil was going to bogey.

Worst choke of the day, was quite obviously Furyk, not the other two.

I completeley forgot about that. The putt he left short was a riot, I thought I was looking at me putting. Use your purse next time Alice! Then the short putt he read.......and read.......and read again on 18 and still missed, you could almost see his knees knocking.
