Default SWLY pictures from 8/26

http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLan...fromshare&Ux=0

Just finished uploading the pictures. Not many race photos as I was not in a great spot. SWLY is so tired. She was not her usual self back at the barn. I think a vacation will be great for her. As Steve pointed out, she has been in training since June 2006.

It was great to see everyone again.

Thanks.
My wife loves looking at the photos.

A question: Is Mr. Simon like 50 feet tall or is everyone around him a midget?

More great pics for Sumwon's scrapebook - THANKS! Three thoughts come to mind:

Look at the muscle on our girl. Holy cow, she's ripped.

I love hats on men. I wish "real" hats would come back!

The Dee Tee silks are always the best-looking in the paddock

I'm not a peppermint kind of girl, I'm more carrots and apples. But no, I didn't give her anything and since she had a bout with colic last week I thought it was wiser to let her feeding be done by professionals.

She was really wiped out. In the past she has loved the attention and some neck scratching but she made it pretty clear that she wanted to be left alone. She came to the front of her stall when Cherie was mixing up the feed. These are the pictures when she is peering to her right. She was looking at her feed so intently you'd think she was willing it to move closer.

On the other hand Hacker Craft was especially playful yesterday. I think he realized that SWLY didn't want all of the attention so he seized the moment to be the "big" horse in the barn.

she was more ready for visitors, when we went after the track closed. she was working on her hay and getting scratches in between bites.
hacker craft was certainly happy to be scratched and petted.

this is the first time I heard about colic. Too much peppermint?

really sad to hear she isn't feeling well. Hopefully this vacation will fix all that.

maybe the peppermints - who knows. I heard that Cherie stayed with her from 6 am - 6 pm - maybe later watching her to make sure she didn't get too distressed.

Riot can probably answer this better than I can but most of the horses I have come in contact with suffer from stomach illnesses. They have a very sensitive digestive system and any change in their feed can cause them to colic. SWLY also has stomach ulcers which may exacerbate the issue.

Because of the prevalence of stomach problems, including ulcers, we give the horses at the barn I am involved in Rolaids - they like them - a nice pepperminty taste and good for their stomach, too.

She's a real pretty girl...not as friendly as Sumwon, but I did say goodbye to her as well last night. Did you name her? A very pretty and fitting name.

Hell, I don't even know how Chuck found her, let alone who named her

Nope..can't take credit for that. I haven't met Sumwon yet, but from what I understand, it's hard to find a nicer horse than she...plus, she can run too
