Default All Star Games

Should they exist in any sport? Who likes them except agents?

they should call them "all-star weekends" and just have skills competitions. the games themselves suck.

I actually like the NBA & NHL all star games. Just offensive exibitions that are fun to watch. Football is tough to watch without any of the intensity or hitting, but it's understandable with the high chance of injury. And as far as baseball goes, the batters have to face a different stud pitcher every inning. Usually shapes up to be a 4-3 game. What fun is that? I could turn on any game this summer and watch that. Plus the fact that they make it worth something by giving the winner home field in the World Series is absolutely ridiculous. It would be more enetrtaining to have these guys play slow pitch softball then play a regular game.

It is almost a guarantee that skill competitions would get more ratings then these actual comedy games.

The old school competitions between QB's and WR's that they show on NFL Network are awesome.

1) NBA: All the skill contests that they already have
2) NFL: QB Challenge, Lineman Challenge, Skill players challenge
3) MLB: HR Derby
4) NHL: Skills competition

I found this year's rather entertaining unlike many years. Wade was incredible.

No. Not me.

Had no clue it was even on yesterday. Saw it on the front page of ESPN.com a couple minutes ago and thought, "hmm, guess I missed that one" and I moved on.

The MLB all-star game is the only one that doesn't suck because it's the only major sport you can play just as well when you're half-asleep.

Last night's game was enjoyable, Wade was indeed awesome, Anthony and James were impressive and Howard...a driving layup and a three!

I heard a suggestion for the NBA all star game that I liked. Pick the 20 best players. Have the top 2 vote getters named captains and then have them pick the teams and play shirts vs skins. Forget about the conferences.

Heck, it just a pickup game. they ought to treat it as such.
