The buckeyes getting 7 in the shoe? No one respects USC more than I do but I have to take those points.

1st year qb in the shoe and they have to give 7?

I LOATHE Notre Dame, but that was one hell of a play-action screen play. Reminded me of the '04 Patriots.

This ND receiver #23 may have some talent, but he is playing like $hit today.

Parlay: USC -7.0/7.5 (today) with Carolina +2-1/2 (tomorrow)

Ohio State is still not fast enough to keep up with elite team such as USC...

Carolina is home dog on Opening Day and should win outright versus Beagles...

Cha-ching... first turnover -- BUCKEYES! I thought USC linebacker was going to outrun entire OSU offense!

Guess ABC brought 1-1/2 replay cameras -- no down-the-line replay... Good call by refs.

TOUCHDOWN Trojans!

Jim "3-point" Tressel... no confidence in his offense to punch it in...

the field goal was the smart call in that situation. Defense playing well, short field and no proven short yardage back. Take the points, play defense and take the lead. Why would you go for it in that situation being tied 7-7 at home?

At the time the SC offense couldn't do anything with the ball. They would have been pinned inside the 5 in the noisey end of the stadium. Show your team that you have some balls.

why though? Its not like you have beanie wells back there to get you the 1.5 yards (its not like it was inches to go). If they stop you there, momentum swings back the other way and it takes the crowd out of it.

Take the lead and win with d...especially at home.

Leaving the offense on the field, would have shown that you have confidence in them to get it done in a big spot. And if they didn't the defense is in a prime situation to make a big play and eventually get the ball back with good field condition. Plus the crowd would have been right back in it as soon as Barkley took the first snap of the drive from the 2 yard line. Especially should have done it, after Pete Caroll did it in the first quarter on the road.

In the first half tied 7-7? why risk it...especially with the distance to gain.

Carroll did it because he really didnt have anything to lose. They deferred possesioin and got it via turnover not a drive like in the OSU situation. Plus..he only had inches to go, not over a yard like OSU.
