Default Loyal Shadow

I see where LOYAL SHADOW (Pal's half brother) was claimed from Dr. Paul Giacopelli/Gary Sciacca today in the 8th at Belmont. He was a slow starter (didn't break his maiden til something like his 14th race), but has performed admirably as he's gotten older. Let's hope Pal follows the same template! (Although I wouldn't mind if he broke his maiden a little sooner!)

Oh, I did not see that, thank you for sharing this. I love Loyal Shadow, she is a sweet mare and I will miss visiting her. She has a wonderful personality and I hope she is happy and healthy in her new home.

Still sinking in that she isn't mine anymore. She's was mine from the time the mating was planned and she's actually older than my kids...hard to believe...she came a very long way from a pretty humble start. Always hard trying and she got sweeter as she got older, she carried my stable for the last few years. It was tough saying goodbye to her yesterday. I hope she does well for her new connections.

When people say, "It's a business", they'd do well to read these words. Sure, it's a business. But it's a PASSION even moreso. I feel for ya, Doc. Truly.

Default Saratoga 7/27 race 7

Making her debut for her new owner on the same card as Pal. M/L 4/1. Wishing her and her new owners good racing luck tomorrow.

It's going to be very difficult to see her in someone else's colors tomorrow.
