The NY Post's Larry Brooks just reported that he left the team with one week to go in the regular season to get some sort of substance abuse counseling, although this is not known to be connected to his death at this point.

just read that boogards brain will be donated for further study. they called it substance abuse/behavioral counselling. i wonder if he was suffering effects from the concussion? did he notice a change in behavior, attitude, temper? autopsy results won't be out for some weeks, but you'd have to think with seeing that the homicide division of the pd was in on the investigation, that this is most likely a suicide.
