Default Mystery Giver - Block is an idiot

I hope he reads this.

This horse has DONE NOTHING but ran his rear end off for you and you put him up for a 40k tag. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN RISK losing this horse, let alone for 40k. He deserves to be on your farm with Ioya Two and the others before you lose him for a tag. MORONIC and I hope Catalano claims him for the 40k and wins the Arlington Million with him just to screw you....

LOL. I saw this the other day and was gonna make a post about it, but I figured you would.

Guess he thinks the horse has nothing left...I'm using him...

On a related topic, there's a $600k purchase dropped from MSWs in for $25k at Hol in the 8th tonight.

Well said....I ran the press box at FG when he won the prestigious Gr.II Muniz Memorial...what a shame.....I really didn't think the Blocks were those kind of people but unless they scratch because they really entered with an alterior motive, I will have lost a lot of repect for that group....shame, shame, shame....One thing that is for certain, if there is karma in any game it is this one and they'll probably get a bad dose of it soon...

See your point but it's his horse. And if he jogs for fun and no one takes him, he's a genius.

This might be one of those situation like how you don't claim off of Duchie, I don't know...He is 8 years old but really, if you are going to drop this low, WHY EVEN CONTINUE? Throw him on the farm and not even risk losing him, I would think a horse like this means more to them, like a family member

No claims in the race. They got away with it.

Default D Wayne the money burner

He had a couple of his good things running today at Arlington.

In the 5th it was Authoritative, a $300K purchase running for a $10K tag.
Lifetime record 9 0-0-1, earnings $4,277. The good news is he is already gelded so he should have plenty of time to earn back the investment.

In the 9th it was Gray Star, a $825K purchase out of Giants Causeway.
Lifetime record, 7 0-0-1 earnings $10,131. However he did take down the show prize money today so the bankroll has swelled a little more.

I hope you guys see my point on this. Personally, and this is me, if I had a horse at his level, that has made me over 1 million dollars, that horse would NEVER seen a claiming tag and would be getting the most expensive mare hookers that I could get my hands on on a weekly basis.

I always thought Block was a good trainer, but today showed me something from a personality angle. Unless he had some Dutchie agreement(Don't try and claim his horses or you won't get stables next year type thing) and talked to some of the bigger outfits about Mystery Giver, I am extremely disappointed as a fan of Chris Block that he would even RISK losing this horse.

This horse in Illinois is like Funny Cide in NY (I know they have accomplished completely different things but you should understand the point I am trying to get)

ALOT of these horses just give it there all and push themselves to the limits and for what, extra hay and maybe a peppermint, to even be put at risk for only 40k is atrocious(?)...This horse could have easily been claimed today and shipped to like Lone Star and just gobbled up purse after purse and made back that 40k plus another 40k, then 2 years later would have ended up in some horse slaughter line.....just unreal

No , not at all. Heck of a training job. To get a win out of an 8 yo who had not run a decent step in two years... good work. Maybe the Million's ambitious, but still a wonderful run by a nice old gelding. Be interesting to see how where/when/how he runs next. Wonder if Block's glad or sorry he didn't get claimed.

Wow!...How in the hell did he pay that much and not get taken...crazy, this sport is at times..I seriously would have stuck around and hammered that Exacta (Ivan Jay Perry - the runner up - might be the best hard-knocking course specialist at ARL in the last 5 years), but I really didn't think MG would get away at that price...I figured he'd be favored off his backclass....absolutley crazy!!!!..Wow....We all look dumb now.

Bruce, he snapped his rear cannon bone in the 04 Million I think, he just got back from that.

He won today, it is good to see, but I lost alot of respect for Block the person, he could have found an optional claiming and not had to put him up for the tag....Just plain dumb and selfish

He would get cremated in the Million. He barely won against $40k claimers today.

Ateam, don't forget he was on a 2 year layoff, no way he is fit yet....This being said, I don't think he would have ever won the Million EVEN AT HIS BEST. Serious horses come for the Million, but it is always nice to have a local interest in it, Arlington doesn't get the type of horses NY, Cali or Florida gets.

All in all, I just hope Block knocks this claiming crap off, and if I run into him at Arlington(I am considering going tomorrow just to find him) and I am going to go off on him

Gorella? Now that would be awesome. You would think she is already showing up to Arlington because of the Beverly D.
