Default US Open

Who does everyone like? Koepka is obviously a strong contender, but I don't think he'll have nearly the edge at Pebble that he had at Bethpage. Pebble is not nearly as long. So I'm not going to pick Koepka in my top 3.

Here are my top 3 picks:

1. Tiger
2. Patrick Cantlay
3. Dustin Johnson

My longshot is Jason Dufner, He's starting to play well again. I don't think he's going to win but I could easily see a top 10 finish.

The last time they played the US Open at Pebble, Tiger won by 15 shots. He's obviously not as good now, but he's still pretty good. He just won the Tour Championship and The Masters. He had a good prep at the Memorial two weeks ago. I think he is the guy to beat.

Cantlay is playing great right now, fresh off his victory at the Memorial. I love Cantlay's attitude. I saw an interview with a couple of weeks ago. He was talking about the majors. He said he loves the majors because he feels that they usually suit his game. He said that as far as he is concerned, the deeper the rough, the tighter the fairways, and the faster the greens, the better. With that attitude he has the mental edge over 80% of the field.

DJ has a great record at Pebble and he is always tough in the majors. So he is obviously a major player, as always.

I misspoke. I totally forgot they played the US Open at Pebble one other time since Tiger's win. He came in 4th that year.

On a different note, Jason Day has lured Steve Williams out of retirement to become his full-time caddy.

I ended up betting $100 on Tiger at 11-1.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Scott Piercy have a good tournament. He's playing well this year, he's a good ball striker, and he's had a couple of top 10 finishes in majors. I used him as one of my guys in the Fantasy contest on PGAtour.com.
