2009 Official Saratoga Meet Contest Thread
With a few days until the meet I hope everyone is ready for the Saratoga Contest. Since the PP's are up for opening day, I figure we'd get this started. We have a bunch of prizes and this has to be the toughest and most fun contest around. Winners are based on the highest ROI. I will post results at least once a week, if not more. Lots of paperwork keeping up so be patient.
Rules: 1. Post all bets on this thread. Everyone gets 36 $20 win bets over the Saratoga meet. Since the meet is 36 days, this is an average of one bet per day, BUT YOU CAN BET WHEN YOU WANT, ANY DAY, ANY RACE. 2. You must post the race number, the horse number, and the horse name. I had many times last year when this was not done properly (alot of wrong race #) and if I correct it fine, but if not, it's a lose, just like getting a ticket wrong. 3. If you post any bet made, if not for the day it is posted, put the date of the race. 4. Scratched horses are no bet. 5. MAKE SURE YOU ALSO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR BETS. I will make mistakes and the last thing I am going to do is go through 200 posts if you think something is wrong. If you see an error, PM me with your bets and posts so we can sort it out. 6. In reporting ROI, everyone starts -$720 (36x20). So it advisable to use all your best. Otherwise, any bet not used will be a $20 loss. 7. Don't give up! If you can bag 6-7 good price winners, you may be in the hunt and last year it came down to the last week with some final moves. 8. If you have not signed up, just place a bet. Anyone can join, up the half way mark in the meet. Good Luck and Hope you enjoy the SPAAAAAAAAAAA Contest! Spyder

Yes, but if you like one of the horses, put that name down. If that horse scratches, it will be no bet.

UPDATE - News Update
Pat Cummings & Golfer are Golden with Retriever!
Arletta falls to third as Retriever wins the 5th race and represents the biggest bomb scored to date in the contest. Both Pat Cummings and Golfer parlayed that pick with a second winner on the day to take first and second respectively. Looking at the results thus far, there's quite a few that are moving swiftly into the first turn of this contest. Still others are taking a "Mine that Bird" approach lagging in the back.. PLEASE NOTE: A lot of you had a wild time Friday night as I'm starting to see picks with no race #, or the wrong race#. If I can find it quickly and easily, I'll count it otherwise....
