Default WikiLeaks

This is really an interesting topic...not sure how I feel? Freedom of the press is important, but at what price? Is this guy motivated by doing good or his ego? Was there a cover up or business as usual during a war?

If the leaks can make even one chicken hawk reconsider their stance on our foreign policy then it is well worth the risk.

These wars are nothing more than a big money grab for the rulers.

I've been a little surprised review of the content hasn't gained more legs (I think it would if domestic issues and the election were not so consuming), but I think it's just too horrific and ugly to want go there in depth, for many.

The guy released this flood of documentation - Wiki has done no legwork, no review, no interpretation, no in-depth analysis. Ego to try and gain credibility for the site, but what has he actually accomplished? Imagine if this was done pre-internet (I'm thinking of transcripts of the Nixon tapes, the Pentagon Papers, etc). He just dumps massive amounts of documents superficially unflattering to America into the public sphere, and invites wolves to feast. So far nobody appears very hungry.

I know what you mean. It doesn't seem right. But the world should know what's going on. Where was this guy when Saddam was having people raped and tortured, and slaughtering and gassing tens of thousands of people? Wiki-Man would have had a field day hanging with the Kmer Rouge , or any of the other too numerous to name Marxist, Faciast,or Maoist regimes have waged war or even run day to day business in the last half century. I just think he's undermining America, in a way. Freedom of the Press is very important though. Restraint can be important too. Maybe he should look into how Iran is treating the students who were rounded up after the demonstrations last year. Especially the women.

He's at it again! Can't help but think some of this stuff has the full blessing of some people that are pretty high up in the Administration. There doesn't seem to be very much anger pointed at the "leakers" , only Assange. Some of it is pretty interesting. Long live Free Speech. I guess this guy is just another doing the job the "real" media should be doing.

As far as PFC Bradley Manning (leaker) goes he seems to have been portrayed as a 'victim/simpleton' first and then poof was gone. I presume he's still in a military prison awaiting his trial/court martial?

I’m puzzled as to what we plan on charging founder and Aussie Assange with, or under what jurisdiction? Or are we just concerned with getting him to face the Swedish sex charges?

I'm not sure he has broken any laws.

Stupid me... Not wearing a condom of course. Guess he must not be a smoker because smoking in public would be far more serious.

If only these leaks created jobs. Oh well.
