that is the $1,000,000 question....how will this thing play? I heard they had dump trucks out putting sand on the track, but cant confirm. I guess going to watch a few early races and see what bias appears.

Exactly. For horses who like running on cement, the track is great.

The tractors will be out between races, but I dont think the harrows will be fluffing up much. Looks like you will be able to hear the hoffs hit the ground.

Just finished listening to Down the Stretch on Sirius & they said last night that the grounds crew took 2" off the top of the track. It will be a much harder suface.Carla Gaines & Jay Hoveday expect it to be lightning fast, maybe faster than it's been ever.

Turf apparently not that soft according to Ron Charles last night.. Had drained very well. Not "firm-firm", but hardly soft going.

From the reports I've been getting the last hour or so, they don't think the track is any faster or harder than it was last week. I guess we'll know more after they run the first couple of races.

I guess they claim that they had some dry sand that they added to the track to make up for the two inches that they scraped off the track.
