Of course he is my fav also! That whole day was the perfect blend of being in horsey lover/handicapper heaven. All the horses I have been following since day 1, have the racing day of their lives and pay huge!! Had the old men at the OTB crying like babies.hehe

I liked Kona Gold. He's my favorite. Of course I liked Successful Appeal too but that turf mile was a lot of grid lock for him.

Personal Ensign was a touch before I really got into the sport, but watching that finish gives me chills today.

Tiznow was my favorite, but Ouija Board took over the top spot last year.

Ouija Board was the first I thought of when I saw this thread.

Desert Stormer. My first Breeders' Cup, and my first BC winner. If only she hadn't been part of the field.

Tiznow also deserves a mention. Played him big in 2001, and had the exacta many times as well as the double with Fantastic Light.

1. Tiznow
2. Ouija Board
Both with my head and my heart.

Either my head or my heart.
3. Invasor - Proved my belief right and all the Dini Weenies wrong.
4. Spain - Should have had two.
5. Rock of Gibralter - disastrous race. Domedriver was worthy, though.
Also: John's Call, Vindication, Squirtle Squirt, She's a Devil Due, and Macho Uno.

BC horses who irritated me either by their hype or just bitter that they won.
1. Bernardini/Fusaichi Pegasus - ridiculously over hyped.
3. Volponi. I was alive to 8 horses in the Classic for the Pick 4. Figured he might run a nice race, but no way did I think he could beat that group.
4. Wilko. Thought I had that race won for the tri box (and eventually would've hit the pick 4) when my three picks were 1,2,3 just outside the 1/16 pole before this guy all of a sudden woke up.
5. Johannesburg. That race just pissed me off.

In a big shocker I'll take Sunday Silence.
There have been a lot of great races in BC history, but I think the '89 Classic tops them all.

Personal Ensign...that race was the greatest!
Inside Information...her "daylight" victory with a rainbow in the NYC skyline was awesome.
DaHoss...to win those B.C. Mile, two years apart was something.

I think Durkin's "Here comes the DERBY WINNER" stretch call in that race was one his best BC calls:

I would say my two are thirty slews and ap indy.

thirty slews because in mexico back then you could choose which regional pool to bet from. he was something like 3/1 in california and 35/1 in ny.

that was the only time i thought ny had a reason to exist!

ap indy, he was just bitchin.

My favorites are Tiznow and Personal Ensign with love for Cigar as well...my best score was Last Tycoon in the 86 Mile...36-1 at the track but 90-1 at Penn National where I bet him for my highest priced winner ever!

On my BC horse that still irritate me is: GoatZapper, freaking robots horse beat "my" PP! Everytime I hear his name I just wanna slap someone, like somone named Bailey.hehe I know,I know Goatzapper was WONDERFUL, blah, blah, blah, dont wanna hear it. hehe And the whole Bernardini can beat everyone, ummm totally forgetting Invasor. How stupid did their little posters look after the race? haha

Personal Rush. Coolest headgear since Gate Dancer. Plus it was pink so that alone trumped the Gate Dancer headgear. And he finished ahead of Funny Cide, Birdstone, Bowman's Band, Fantasticat and Freefourinternet. Personal Rush will not soon be forgotten in these parts.

KONA! KONA! KONA! Watched the race at CD with his 'godfather' (guy who helped plan the breeding), who had him singled in several multirace wagers and paid for prime rib for the gang after the races were over.

Also Singletary, whose progress from an unraced 2yo well-known by the habituees on another board frequented by trainer Chatlos. We all cashed on his maiden win at $63 or so, followed him loyally for all of his career. He was 'our boy.'
