Wednesday, April 11, Sumwonlovesyou debuts for Dee Tee Stables and trainer Chuck Simon at Keeneland as the #7 in the 4th race... Jim Graham rides...
Congratulations and thanks to Chuck and the partnership participants, and all members of Derby Trail as well, for making it possible. I find it hard to believe this really has been pulled off!

oh man, this is great. been looking forward to this day since we got her at auction.
thanks so much to chuck, who has so much more invested in this than any of us. thanks to you, steve, as well, for all your time and effort on this undertaking. good luck to sumwon! it's going to be so exciting to see her on the track, with the jock wearing that blue and lime green!

Unbelievable - in December the idea is floated, in February Chuck is buying a horse at F-T, and April she's running at Kee .... I hope she runs safe, and just had a good race, rating kindly, and making a good strong move - icing on the cake if she gets some money for Chuck! (geesh, her shipping bills alone ....)
Okay, I want to hear the REAL story of how you guys decided to form this partnership. Kasept and Hooves are sitting around, eating pie. Hooves: Let's buy a race horse. Kasept: Too expensive to buy a race horse. Hooves: Hey! Derby Trail could buy a race horse! Kasept: Good idea! That would be fun! Let's call Simon. We'll bribe him with pie!

OUCH The first time the DTer's run there horse I can't whole heartedly pull for you guys. I wish you all the luck in the world and a safe trip, BUT that is where I have to stop we are running one in there that I have had all winter here in Florida. Quiet Action wintered here in Ocala and has been at Keeneland for a week or two now. I think she is ready to fire a big one.

If They Come Off The Turf Does Somewon Still Go
Obviously we have to think about this as with folks traveling literally hundreds of miles to get to Lexington it is probably worth asking if we have a horse in the race if they take it off the turf. Surely this is Chuck's decision only ........and with the poly the leap from turf to poly isn't a great reach but I wanted to try and get some idea as the weather forcasts for the area are less than encouraging DrD

Sumwonlovesyou Speedy filly has been in front after the opening quartermile in each of her last four races and is certainly the one to catch today; unfortunately the presence of Christies Treasure, Quiet Action and Nola Star will make the front end a rather busy place to be; gets a class test in addition to a turf test.

Where are you watching the Sumwon race?
I know that some of you are lucky enough to be making the trip to KEE for the race.
Where are the rest of us watching? Maybe an opportunity for some to root her on together. A few of us will be going to Austin's Ale House in Kew Gardens Queens, NY. Good food, drink, TV's and OTB right in the bar... Anyone in the area is welcome to join us. Best of luck to our girl tomorrow!

Unfortunately i'll be on the road and will miss the race. I'm sure it will be replayed on ATRAB though so it'll just be a slight delay for me.
