"We were in tears," Chezem said. They turned around to thank the donor.

But he was already gone.

She caught a glimpse of him turning the corner by the paddock.

"He said he didn't want anything from this, patted us on the shoulder, and walked away into the crowd," Cary said. "He said, 'This is for the children.'"

I prefer Ramsey to the IEAH gang and Mr. Vitamin water as well but to each his own

I dont know them personally but what is wrong with these people? I thought they are good for racing. Not sure who are the "good guys" in racing anymore.

I wasn't aware that those are the only alternatives? Fact is that you don't know Ken Ramsey nor do you know the IEAH "gang" or Repole. I don't know Repole at all but I do train for one of the "gang" and he is not only a good guy but takes care of his business in the proper fashion. The front man for the IEAH isn't a popular guy for obvious reasons but there is a better chance that he wins a special eclipse award of merit than Ramsey gives away a dime anonymously.

I didn't know Anonymous giving is the key to martyrdom. Good to know....Anyway, the story is lovely and uplifting. Glad we were able to have this nice aside in the thread.
